Recording a New Nation

George Washington was the first president of the United States of America. He was the unanimous choice in the nation's first presidential election. He was a historic figure because he was the general who led the army against the British. Also, he helped establish the country that still exists today.

There were two important political party: the Central Government(Federalists) and the state government(Democratic-Republicans). The Federalists(mostly Northerners) were led by Alexander Hamilton and the Democratic-Republicans(mostly Southerners) were led by Thomas Jefferson. They formed because there were often disagreements on issues and questions in the presidential cabinet and this helped to create the new country's two-party system of political parties.

A presidential cabinet is a group of advisers that is selected by the president to help run the government. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were two important members of the presidential cabinet.

Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton did not share many ideas. For example, Hamilton wanted the government to be ran by the wealthy and educated people. As for Jefferson, we wanted to government to be ran by the modern people and workers. Merchants, investors, and , landowners supported Hamilton and the common people supported Jefferson.

It's okay to disagree but not okay to be disagreeable. If people in a political have disagreements, then everyone will come to terms and agree upon a certain choice. If one were disagreeable, then that would not be the right way to run a government.

If I were a president of the U.S., I would want my cabinet to have regular disagreements. I say this because if certain people disagree with a certain topic, then everyone may listen to the opinions other are giving and can come to terms with the right decisions.
